We hope that everyone enjoyed the Region 1 Jr O experience this past weekend. As always with these events, there are many stories now to be told and remembered. Race day is always chaotic, especially when our Club has so many competing in race after race – we never really have the opportunity to talk with everyone after their races, but we do hope all members walked away glad that they attended – cold & wet, but happy.

Our Youth XC Program officially starts this Sunday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m., at the outdoor track at Leary Field (19 Athletic Field Rd). All members should report to the home stands, at the score board end of the facility. Members should be dressed to practice, in proper running shoes. All members should bring plenty of water – we will take frequent water breaks and mosquito spray is also a good idea. Practices will end around 7:15-7:30. Parents should plan pick ups for 7:15.
Members who are not able to start this Sunday should start whenever they are able – but sooner is better than later so that you do not fall too far behind. If you are not able to start this week, then you should try to get in some easy 8-10 minute runs on your own.
Practices for ALL members, ALL ages, will now continue every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00. There will be some sessions that we will move to the Waltham HS XC course or to the Cove in Auburndale – we will notify you in advance when those sessions are scheduled.
We will also be handing out uniforms and t-shirts this Sunday, to those members who do not already have one.
Members who want other team apparel should order such through our team store at http://triconsports.tuosystems.com/stores/wtc The team store will remain open through the end of next week.
Our first two competitions will be the GBTC XC Festival at Elm Bank Park in Wellesley on Sept. 11 and the CVS Youth Races in Providence on Sept. 18.
